Discovering the Joy of Matisse

Things are opening back up in Sydney again and it was so nice to go on a gallery date with a friend on the weekend. We went to the Art Gallery of New South Wales to check out Matisse: Life & Spirit Masterpieces from the Centre Pompidou, Paris exhibition. His lithographic, gouache-painted paper cut-outs part of his Blue Nudes series have been iconic. However, it was really interesting to learn about the life and work of Matisse spanning 6 decades. It was beautiful to see his ink work, sculptures, colour explorations and of course, the celebration of the female body in his work.

Definitely check it out before it ends on March 18th if you're in Sydney, Australia. I would recommend to go there during a weekday if you can, just because it's the last couple of weeks of the exhibition and the weekend was really busy! Wish I went earlier.
